Vision

IMAGINE.

Imagine a world in which being healthy is the default choice. That’s our vision – providing the learning tools, resources, and programs that will help individuals and companies to create living and working spaces that celebrate health, as well as policies dedicated to creating and sustaining healthy workers and families.

Why a “Playbook”?

The Wellness Playbook is a way of seeing the world. It’s an attitude. When a quarterback calls a play, it’s because he (or she) has evaluated options, looked at the defense, figured out what play is most likely to result in success, and committed to a particular path. What play will you choose when you decide to take control of your health, once and for all? What path will you choose? What’s your strategy for success?

Wellness Playbook learning tools, seminars and consulting offerings offer you the chance to develop a new vision of what health and wellness can be. If you’ve always let life run you, this is your chance to make a play – to build a strategy that is completely personalized for your own life – that will give you the best possible chance for success. If you’re a business struggling with ever-increasing health care costs and a sicker employee base, you can create strategies to support your workers’ efforts to not only stay healthy, but to live their healthiest possible lives.

Guiding Principles

These are the guiding principles that govern everything we do.

  1. Science first. We believe in the power of scientific discovery to positively impact life, and as such, anything endorsed by us must have a true scientific basis. If it’s endorsed here or advertised here, it’s because the product or service advertised passes our muster for being worth your time. This goes for books and web resources as well.
  2. Keep it local. We’re locavores. As much as possible, the work associated with the Wellness Playbook seminars, learning tools and consulting services is done locally in the Seattle area. We invest in local companies for everything from coffee (yes, it’s good for you) to copy services, and we believe in supporting our local communities.
  3. Give it back. We support charities and causes that make our hearts sing. Company founder M. Nicole Nazzaro is currently training for the 2012 Boston Marathon to support pediatric oncology services at Massachusetts General Hospital, and we give both funds and time to other causes we believe in.
  4. Keep it real. We re-invest in our company and in causes that we believe in with the money we earn. This work is our passion – we believe it is possible to live a spectacularly healthy life, no matter what your life history, and we believe that America’s companies can become a vastly effective part of the conversation on personal responsibility as an antidote to our national health care crisis. We stand by everything we offer, and that includes a money-back guarantee if you’re not completely satisfied with our services.
